Since 1923, Joseph Walker & Company has served the US cotton producer and cotton spinning mills as their cotton merchandising firm. It has always been our goal to find partners in the cotton business and build those relationships as we work together buying and then delivering cotton around the world. Joseph Walker & Co. is in constant contact with our cotton producers concerning their seed varieties, soil and water conditions, and crop situations throughout the harvest year. Joseph Walker & Co. stays abreast of the latest ginning procedures and the many other advances within the ginning segment of our industry. Joseph Walker & Co. works with many freight carriers and warehousing operations around the country to continue timely, accurate service. Joseph Walker & Co. also maintains close contact with mills around the United States and the world. Joseph Walker & Co. establishes relationships with mills to ensure quality cotton, timely deliveries and constantly work to meet every need of each individual mill. Joseph Walker & Co. is a constant resource for marketing information. Continuously, our firm is gathering cotton market information, industry news, and innovative ideas for our customers. Joseph Walker & Co. buys and sells all styles of cotton grown in the United States. Our firm purchases California and Arizona Upland and SJV cottons, which include ELS and organic cotton, while also trading Texas cottons, including the fibermax qualities. Additionally, Joseph Walker & Co., located in the Southeastern part of the United States, trades the Memphis and Eastern growths of cotton, which as a combined region, makes up over half of the US crop each year. The "Memphis" area of cotton is grown in the upper and lower Mississippi Delta, which includes the states of Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, and Mississippi and "eastern" area cotton is harvested from the eastern United States, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. Joseph Walker & Co. is a member of the Southern Southeastern, Inc., Southeastern Cotton Ginners Association, Inc., Southern Cotton Growers, Inc., National Cotton Council, the American Cotton Shippers Association, and the Atlantic Cotton Association, and abides by all the rules and regulations of these industry associations.
